Joaquin Sarria is a Civil Engineer graduated from the Universidad Metropolitana (1982) located in Caracas, Venezuela. He also obtained a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1984), Cambridge, United States. He studied Offshore Exploration and Deep Foundation Design.
He was the on site Exploration Manager in Geohidra Consultores, C. A. from 1984 to 1990. After, he worked as Director of Liquid Carbonic de Venezuela, S. A. from 1991 to 1996 and President and Shareholder of NEWCO S. A., owner of the Cindu Group, a company with operations in 36 countries, from 1997 to 1999.
From 2003 to 2013, he was Director and Shareholder of Geohidra Consultores, C. A.
Geohidra is an EPC Venezuelan Company with more than 39 years of experience in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Business, a worldwide leader company in Offshore and Onshore Site Characterization. As an engineer, he was part of the PMT in EPC Projects achieving Five (5) worldwide records in engineering and construction, like the EPC of the largest Power Generation Plants in Tacoa, Venezuela, 342 MW, 2011.
Joaquin Sarria has held a variety of technical and management positions. His expertise covers site surveys for Metocean, Geophysical, Geotechnical and Environmental Assessment, including soil behavior and earthquake simulation, deep foundation analysis and design for offshore platforms, subsea pipelines, ports and bridges.
Joaquin Sarria has also experience managing infrastructure projects, compressed gas plants and has been responsible for ports operation for sulfur, coke, ammonia, urea among other chemical products.
He was Director and shareholder of Petrocor AG, from 2013 to 2018, a Swiss multinational conglomerate holding company headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, that oversees and manages its own companies while having equity shares in several globally recognized firms.
From 2018, he is President of Petrocor C. A., a Venezuelan IPC & OM company that incorporates financing schemes, guarantying on time execution.

Joaquin Sarria is Director and Treasurer of the Venezuelan Chamber of Petroleum and Vice President of the Venezuela’s MIT Association, both positions held from 2018.
